Xavier Michael Young

  My name is  Xavier Michael-Young and I am an enrolled citizen of the Seminole Tribe of Florida and a descendant of the Delaware Tribe of Indians in Oklahoma.  I spent most of my childhood in Oklahoma among my mother’s Tribal Community, the Delaware Tribe.   I have always been involved with my Lenape(Delaware) culture through the Lenapeowsi foundation.  The Lenapeowsi foundation is a non-profit group started by my mother and other Delaware Tribal citizens that teaches and instills our cultural ways in our tribal youth. While I was in Highschool, we moved to Bemidjii, Minnesota so that my mother could take a teaching position at Bemidjii College.   During that time, I became more involved in drama classes and participated in musical productions where I was cast in leading and supporting roles.  I also participated in our speech/debate team, eventually obtaining the role of captain.  Upon graduating Highschool, I enrolled in the University of Wyoming, where I am currently majoring in Agricultural Business.
